Mission

To position the Northwest food processing industry to compete successfully in the global economy.

IPC’s Roots

2003 Responding to global competitive pressures, the Northwest Food Processors Association (NWFPA) established a three state cluster initiative to reposition the industry to compete globally.

2004-2006 Strategic Private-Public roadmap was developed focusing on five critical areas: Innovation Infrastructure, Transportation Solutions, Workforce Pipelining, Strategic Alliances, and Operational Productivity.

2006-A proposal was initiated to the Oregon Innovation Council to establish and fund the Innovation Productivity Center. Oregon InC is the cross-sector leadership team created in 2005 by the Governor and State Legislature, to drive the state's innovation strategy.

2007- The legislature approved the Oregon Innovation Package, and Governor Ted Kulongoski signed the legislation to provide funding for the Northwest Food Processors Innovation Productivity Center (IPC).

2007- The Northwest Food Processors Education Research Institute (ERI) was established. IPC became an operating unit of the ERI.

Through Industry driven private-public initatives IPC researches, develops and share’s innovative techniques that lead to a stronger economic future.

Cultivate "Knowledge Workers."
The IPC works hard to foster development of top notch talent in the food processing industry. That is one of our core missions, and we’re sticking by it!

There is power in sharing. Many others in this great industry can benefit from all of the wonderful tools and resources that IPC has to offer. Please share this site with all others in the industry.
